A Visit To The Langdales

The variety of different places you can visit in your campervan or motorhome is
extortionate, who even needs to go home when there are so many beautiful places to
discover from the comfort of your wheel. However, the langdales is a must.
Located in the depths of the Lake District national park, the Langdale valley is located in
the North West of England, specifically west of Ambleside. Split into two separate
valleys, Great Langdale and Little Langdale, it is famed for its glorious views; it is not
somewhere to miss off your bucket list.
By travelling through the A591 or even the B5284, which are both picturesque driving
routes, you would soon come to meet the langdales. With a variety of different things to
do in the Langdales, there is something for everyone, such as cycling and walking
routes, climbing, camping, cute little shopping knocks and much more. Also with easy
access to Grasmere (make sure you grab some famous grasmere gingerbread, it’s just
insane!) Coniston, Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere, your itinerary would just be
jam packed full. Even more so, it’s also in perfect distance from Chesters by the River, a
lovely cafe stop after a hard days adventuring. And before I forget, have you ever heard
of the Old Dungeon Ghyll which has its own Hikers Bar? This is where a varied
selection of real ales can provide just the thing after a long hard day on the fells or rock.
However, if ales are not your tipple of choice, there is also a large selection of Scottish
whiskeys ready for you, as well as a wine cellar.

Obviously if you’re travelling by campervan you’ll need somewhere to camp for the night
(or nights) and this is where my specialty lies. Recently I visited the langdales and
myself stayed in a converted campervan and was in need of a decent camping facility.
This is how we came across Baysbrown Farm Campsite, ‘A simple site in stunning
surroundings’. All in all, it has everything you need for a comfortable few nights stay, as
they rightly quote ‘in stunning surroundings’. It is located in the village of Chapel Stile,
which is at the entrance to the Great Langdale Valley in the heart of the Lake District.
With this campsite, there is no hassle in having to pre-book your slot, it is based on a
‘first come first serve’ basis, however we’ve never had an issue and it’s perfect for an
impulsive trip up into the depth of the Lake District.
Through and through, it is a superb location for those who adore the outdoors and it’s a
perfect base for those who enjoy the thrill of walking, climbing, boulding and/or ghyll
scrambling. Why not even bring your bikes? An added bonus even includes their own
onsite facilities, such as toilets and washing up facilities, which is an overall gem if you
ask me for any camping site, especially after a long day outdoors

However, please have a check up yourself on the BayBrown Farm camp site with the
link https://baysbrownfarmcampsite.co.uk/index.html as opening times vary and facilities
do not cater for all motorhomes and caravans.
When you wake up to the mesmerising views of the green lushus hills and the sun rising
through them, what is there to complain about?

Welcome to the Langdales.
