Caravan, Campaign & Motorhome Show NEC February 2024

The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show has now drawn to a close. From 13th-18th February, thousands of visitors went to the NEC Birmingham to see the latest in all things campervan, caravan and motorhome. If you couldn’t make it to the show and feel left out, don’t worry; here are our five main takeaways from the show.

Saturday stole the show

Unsurprisingly, Saturday was the most popular day. Three times the number of visitors were eager to explore the latest in caravan and motorhome accessories, compared to the other days. Planning your visit based on your preference is key: quieter weekdays for browsing or bustling weekends for a more vibrant atmosphere. Remember for next time, weekends sell out faster and attract more traffic!

Manufacturers shift strategy

There was less direct motorhome and caravan manufacturer presence at the show, with big names like Swift opting to exhibit through dealerships instead this year. Leading brands like Adria and Coachman appeared at the show, but if you have your heart set on a specific manufacturer, it is worth checking their attendance before you attend the next event. The October Motorhome & Caravan Show remains the most popular for caravan and motorhome brands, as this is where the latest vehicle models are debuted.

Less entertainment options for kids

While the popular kayaking pool and climbing wall were present at the show, we noticed fewer child-friendly activities were available. So, if you’re planning to attend the show as a family, be prepared for less entertainment options for your little ones.

Campervans and micro-campers increased in popularity

There is an undeniable surge in the popularity of smaller vehicles such as campervans and micro-campers (like the Go-Pod). While these have been around for a while now, they have started to gain more attention, especially among young adults seeking flexibility and adventure. Prefer traditional caravans or motorhomes? Not to worry – they have defended their positions as the most exhibited vehicles at the show, catering to those desiring spacious comfort.

Accessories to upgrade your caravan and motorhome

From clever gadgets that make your adventures even more convenient to stylish upgrades for your caravan or motorhome, there are accessories for all your needs. Space-saving caravan and motorhome accessories like fold-away tables and stools were everywhere, and highly popular with caravanners and motorhomers alike. Their space conscious designs free up the precious living space in your caravan or motorhome.

Especially noteworthy? The focus on custom-made caravan and motorhome mattresses, bedding, and awnings. Think plush, temperature-regulating mattresses making sure you get a good night’s sleep even on bumpy roads, and breathable, high-quality bedding sets that make your caravan or motorhome feel like home.
